I do have to keep reminding my son though it's just food, even if he can't have that one thing, there are many others he can. Sorry about your husband being diagnosed, but as you said, a greater bond is occuring now.
A few months we also found out our son was allergic to wheat, many animals, and lots of environmental allergens. The doctor told us since he's had no issues so far with eating stuff with wheat, that not to stop. This is of course besides peanuts and tree nuts we already knew about.
Hope you feel better soon.

Hi Robyn,

First, I want to say sorry for the loss...

Hi Robyn,

First, I want to say sorry for the loss of your grandma and hope you are feeling better.

Happy Birthday to Tyler. As they get older, they understand their allergies much better.

Is your son allergic to all the treenuts or just certain ones? Cashews and pistacios share similar properties, so if you have one you most likely have the other. My dautghter has pistachio, cashew, hazelnut/filbert, almond, peanut, and walnut and pecan were borderline.

I feel so bad when my daughter's skin welts up from testing. The first time we did testing, I was worried about that and the allergist offered to give the serum at 50% strength. Also, do you always get the testing done on the back? My daughter's allergist always does it on the arm?

This reminds me that we need to find a new allergist. We go once a year and her allergist (who is just wonderful!!) and the most pleasant doctor and staff to work with has taken a leave of absence from her practice and the group that took over for her, I have heard mixed reviews on.

Happy New Year,
Linda

Happy birthday Tyler!! :-) Karen in NC

Happy birthday Tyler!! :-) Karen in NC
