Guess who is sporting a new look for 2010? That's right! Our good friends over at EpiPen are rolling out a new version of that life saving shot we all love so much!
The new EpiPen design will include:
- Improved needle protection to prevent needle exposure before and after use
- A flip top carrying case
- Blue safety cap to prevent accidental activation
- Ergonomically designed grip for a firm grip
But I know other peanut allergy moms out there like me don't do extremely well with change when it comes to our child's medications. Consider this your "heads up" on your next EpiPen refill...

The 'window' on the EpiPen is SO much easier to see with the new shot/case design. A MAJOR improvement! Of course, withstanding heat and cold would be the best improvement ever...
The 2-pack in the little clip that holds them together is also about an inch wider than before. Don't know how well they will fit into our Epi-Pen case...
Thanks for the heads up on this. It is always nice to anticipate changes.
Thanks for the heads up. I just got a new one a couple of weeks ago, and it was the same. This does look like a nice design.
Have you ever tried the Twinject? Our allergist offered as an alternative, but we stick with the Epipen and don't plan to change. The epi is the one we practice on and also, what the school personnel has and is trained in.
Happy New Year!
Linda
It looks fabulous! The only thing that worries me is the blue tab. Do we have to do something with that when we go to inject it now? I'll have to check out the Epi-pen site. Thanks Robyn!!
Never mind! Lol. I see that the blue tab took the place of the grey cap. Got it!

They're *wider* now?! Oh that is not good...I'd rather have the old design and keep it narrower. Truly.
