Our local food allergy support group met this past Monday and we all discovered something that astounded me: Of the 13 of us who were present, 12 of our children were boys. That is 92%!!
So, I would like to make this weekend's discussion a poll. Is your PA kid a boy or a girl? I will calculate the ratio of boys to girls and post later next week.
So, BOY or GIRL??

I have 7 year old boy...In my kid's school there are 8 other kids with tree and/or peanut allergies and ALL are boys...there is also 1 boy with no nut/peanut allergy but a milk allergy...and of the 9 with tree nut/peanut allergies I know of 3 that have little sisters with NO allergies...I don't know about siblings for the rest of them...
Mine is a boy!! Wow!! I wonder if there are any studies to support the allergy vs. gender theory??

Mine is a girl. Our son is not allergic to peanuts, but IS allergic to sunflower seeds - only exposed to them by eating Sunbutter! So no more Sunbutter for us! :(

My allergic one is also a boy (peanut & much more). My 2 girls have no allergies at all. I mentioned this to the allergist and he said something about that pesky x chromosome. I won't be at all surprised if they figure out one day allergic tendencies reside on the X so that's why more boys have them.
