Free Burger!

Have you checked out the allergen friendly Red Robin? They have a menu that lists everything in their restaurant that is safe for those with a peanut allergy. Plus, the food is great!!

(You can read a review I wrote the restaurant here.)

As if you don't need any more reasons to visit Red Robin, how does a free hamburger sound? Yep, sounds great to me, too!

Visit this link and you can sign up for their e-club. When you do, you will receive a coupon for a free burger. I don't know about you but FREE is one of my favorite words!!

****For those of you following Tyler's surgery, it will be at 9:15am EST today. I will try to post an update on him and my hospital experience while dealing with PA tomorrow.****

We LOOOVE Red Robin! When we went for the first time I told the waiter about my son's food allergies and I heard him walk back to the other staff and kitchen to announce "we have a food allergy alert!" ...They then printed up papers for us to read what is safe and what is unsafe for him to eat. It was a fantastic experience. We have been back again since. :-) K in NC

We have had a couple very good experiences at some Red Robins, but not all. Recently, I was reminded that allergy menus do not necessarily translate into food allergy friendly restaurants. The allergy menu only means that somebody at corporate was aware of food allergies. It doesn't mean that the employees at the restaurant you are visiting have the same awareness.

In any chain restaurant, the management and service varies from one location to another. I think it's wonderful that Red Robin and other chains now have allergy menus, but sometimes food allergy training and awareness does not thoroughly reach all relevant staff members. My PA son ate a meal off of a peanut allergy menu and still had a reaction, most likely due to cross-contamination in the kitchen. Allergy menus are great but the restaurant staff and cook/chef really need to be on top of their game in order for it all to work.

Enjoy but be ever-vigilant! :)
